Research Interests
The theoretical and empirical study of integrated coastal and ocean management, specifically focusing on the application of integrated management planning and technologies, as well as the capacity building for a sustainable ocean and coastal development.

Teaching Experience
Research Funding
Prof. Xue has been engaged in the research of sustainable coastal development for more than 20 years, especially on marine development planning and management, integrated ocean and coastal management, etc. He has led various international projects funded by UNDP, UNEP, CIDA, GEF, etc., and also numbers of domestic projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation, China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Fund, Fujian Provincial Natural Science Foundation, China Oceanic Development Fund, etc. The total research fund has amounted to more than 30 million RMB.
